Meal :Lunch & Dinner

Will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel/Airport and depart for Tsavo East on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway also known as the early explorer’s route.

Safari

We’ll arrive at Tsavo gate where the immense sweep of the park’s great expanse will fill our horizon. Take a break if you’d like but then we’ll fire up the 4 x 4 and head off on our first game drive.

This is big savannah country and we’ll be looking for lions and the great elephants that populate these red-dust plains. Punctuating the arid sweep of the park, its refreshing watering holes are a natural draw for the reserve’s thirsty inhabitants.

We may visit Aruba Dam and Mudanda Rock to watch the elephants and lesser creatures gather for sustenance at these watering spots.

We’ll enjoy lunch and then jump into the 4 x 4 for more afternoon game drives. Throughout your safari, your driver/guide is your expert advisor on all manner of wildlife and the wondrous scenes of nature before you.

Safari

When in Tsavo East, we rise with the birds, that is, before the sun. Our early morning game drive will afford us exquisite views of the park emerging in the dawning light. In this special atmosphere, we will observe the animals as they come into the new day.

Breakfast follows at our lodge or tented camp and then we’re off again on another game drive to discover buffalo, impala, eland and some of the park’s 500 species of birds.

But soon it’s time to journey to the other Tsavo… Tsavo West. The short drive there will give us more opportunities to spot wildlife.

The look and feel of this park is different – more color, more foliage and some very green surprises like Mzima Springs. The crystal waters feeding this haven and the palm shrouded banks impart the feeling of a lush oasis. We’ll look for hippo, crocodile, exotic fish and migratory birdlife.

The park also is home to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, protecting at least 80 of these endangered animals. We’ll drive through and perhaps spot some of the magnificent rhinos.

A delicious safari breakfast follows and then one more bonus game drive over the striking plains of Tsavo West. Look for bush baby, hartebeest, impala, and scampering in the park’s many acacia trees – monkeys .But now it’s time to exit the park on our way back to Nairobi.
